Cățărare. Portugalia. bannerEarly winter brings mild temperatures, sunny days, and quiet crags — the perfect mix for a relaxed introduction to rock climbing.

While much of Europe is cold, Portugal’s Atlantic coast offers ideal conditions for rock climbing activities all year round.

For another year in a row, we dedicate these early ”winter” days to discover and enjoy the sunny rocks along the Atlantic, easily accessible from Lisbon.

Perfect for beginners — but not only, our rock climbing program is all about learning basic rope climbing safely, enjoying nature, and feeling the thrill of reaching the top.

Our multi-day program includes top rope routes and up to two pitches, on both limestone and granite.
It’s a great opportunity to learn and experience the unique character and climbing style of each rock type.

All routes are equipped for sport climbing, but for those seeking a deeper challenge, there will also be options to try more technical and mentally demanding multi-pitch routes (two–three pitches) using traditional protection.

We’ll explore some of Portugal’s most beautiful coastal landscapes, located within two protected natural parks, close to Lisbon:

  • Sintra–Cascais Natural Park, at the foot of the Sintra Mountains — granite walls and forest settings under the castle.
  • Arrábida Natural Park, on the Setúbal Peninsula — stunning limestone cliffs rising above the Atlantic.

For those who wish to discover another side of the ocean, one day can be dedicated to scuba diving in the Sesimbra area, exploring the underwater world of the Atlantic.

  • Those who want to try it for the first time can take their “baptism” in diving, learning the basics and making their first dive in the ocean.
  • Open Water SSI or PADI certified divers will go to greater depths, where shipwrecks and caves can be explored.

Those interested in this activity are kindly asked to mention it when registering for the program.

For participants who need accommodation, we will stay in guesthouses in Sintra and Sesimbra, offering comfort and quick, easy access to the climbing walls.
